First Aid Policy 01.05.2024
It is the policy of McCormack Training Ltd that all associates and full time employees are to ensure that they hold a current First Aid at Work qualification.
In order to deliver a course the instructor MUST hold the relevant qualification and be competent to deliver the course content.
All associates and employees are expected to establish that there is a suitable first aid kit available at the location of every course they are delivering.
In the event that one is not available on site, it is the responsibility of the instructor to ensure that they are in possession of a first aid kit when they attend the venue.
Further the instructor is to ensure that they establish the location of the nearest first aider and the number to be called in the event of an emergency.
Physical Intervention courses have the potential for injury; therefore the instructor should have the standard first aid kit and additional ice packs in order to deal with possible sprains/swelling.
The daily injury report form should be completed for the delegate prior to further training commencing.
Further bottled water should be made available during the PI Course to ensure that delegates remain hydrated at all times.
All injuries attained during any course need to be recorded in the site accident book, and RIDDOR notified as appropriate.
